Rancho El Paso Sausage Factory, Apartment, Restaurant and Beer Garden

As part of a larger master plan for this multi-use project, this building houses a sausage factory and shop on the ground floor and an upstairs apartment with outdoor terrace for the owner, Mastah-san, and his family.

The sausage factory encloses the south end of this restaurant courtyard complex, which has grown incrementally over time to accommodate a range of functions (ham smoking, tortilla making, wine cellar, ice cream shop, grandfather's house, among others). In addition to the sausage factory, the design proposes expanding the restaurant along its south side, opening it onto a beer garden.

To accommodate the nightly performances that take place here, the beer garden offers a larger outdoor arena, in addition to the existing indoor one, with a stage and first and second level viewing terraces at both the restaurant and sausage factory.
